The Case is a core entity within the Platform, consisting of two primary components:
To create a new Case, navigate to the Cases page and click the Create Case button -

Provide the following data
Name of the Case and its Description, if needed
Choose Suggested case type → Narrative
The most used case type is Narrative. It is typically updated every 30 minutes.
Search:
Start Date
End Date
The End Date can be set in the future or left blank. If an End Date is specified, the system will automatically update the Case every 30 minutes until that date. If no End Date is provided, updates will continue every 30 minutes until the Case is manually stopped.
Keywords
Refer to the Search Guide to learn how to use the Keywords field and understand the syntax supported by the Osavul Platform.
Enable Multilanguage Search if you want your keywords to be automatically translated into multiple languages.
To ensure clean and accurate results, enter keywords in a single language. The system will handle translation automatically.
If Multilanguage Search is enabled, Select the Original Language of the keywords you entered.
Filter results:
Languages
Use this field to specify the language or languages of the content you want to include in the Case.
To exclude specific languages from the Case, list the languages you want to exclude and toggle the Exclude button to the 'on' position (it will turn red)
Note: To have your keywords automatically translated into the languages specified in the Languages field, enable Multilanguage Search. If Multilanguage Search is disabled, the system will use the original language of your keywords to search within publications written in the selected languages in the field Languages.

Content Types

The system disables Content Types that are incompatible with the selected Platforms.
The table below shows which Content Types are available on each Platform. Some Platforms don’t support certain Content Types. For example, if you choose "Video" with "Facebook," you won’t get any results because we don’t collect videos from Facebook.

To exclude specific Аctors from the Case, list those you want to exclude and toggle the Exclude button to the 'on' position (it will turn red)
Actor groups

To exclude specific Аctor groups from the Case, list those you want to exclude and toggle the Exclude button to the on position (it will turn red)
Actors origin countries
Select the country or countries of the source origin.
Tip: Use the Actors origin countries and Languages filters together to refine your Case results. For example, selecting Languages: Russian and Actors origin countries: Germany will display content from sources located in Germany that produce content in Russian.
State-affiliated actors
Use this if you want to determine whether individual actors or actor groups are affiliated with a specific country or countries. This status does not imply malicious intent. It simply indicates that an actor is affiliated with a government, such as a verified ministry page on Facebook or a state-owned media outlet (e.g., affiliated with the Russian government).
Toggle the switcher to the on position for the bulk all countries selection
High Risk Accounts
The High Risk Accounts section includes the following types of account classifications
Inauthentic behavior
This setting highlights likely “social bots” or accounts exhibiting inauthentic behavior. Osavul assigns this status based on factors like posting frequency, content patterns, network connections, and other behavioral signals. Toggle the switcher to the on position if you want to see results shared by actors exhibiting inauthentic behavior, such as bots.
This setting is most useful when analyzing comments and messages, where bots are commonly active.
Sentiment
The Sentiment setting enables detection of the overall tone of a message — positive, negative, or neutral.
Aspect-Based Sentiment
Aspect-Based Sentiment is an AI-powered feature on the Osavul platform that provides deeper insight than general sentiment analysis. Instead of simply identifying whether a message is positive, negative, or neutral, it detects sentiment directed at specific entities—such as people, countries, events, and more. This enables a more focused and contextual understanding of sentiment based on the selected criteria.
Toggle the switcher to the on position if you want to apply Aspect-Based Sentiment to the case.
Stories
The Stories feature is designed to enhance big data analysis. The system analyzes all the messages in the Case and groups them into Stories, considering their semantic similarity, for example:
- Group together messages that are reposts or variations of an original message
- Cluster messages that express similar opinions about a specific event
- Combine messages that cover the same event or narrative into a single story
Toggle the switcher to the on position if you want to create stories out of the content.
